Frequently Asked Questions.
What makes the Pitch Collective different from traditional agencies?
You work directly with senior creatives who stay on your project from brief to completion, no account management layers, no handoffs to junior teams. Our collective model means lower overheads, so more of your budget goes into the actual work. The result is agency-quality thinking at a more efficient price point.
How does the collective work in practice?
From your perspective, it’s straightforward: one point of contact, clear estimates, unified billing, and seamless project management. Behind the scenes, we assemble a custom team of specialists for your brief. Each one takes personal ownership of their part while collaborating with the wider team. You get agency-level coordination without agency-level costs.
Why are you called the Pitch Collective?
Our name was inspired by the traditional advertising pitch process, when agencies often hire experienced freelance creatives to work on the opportunity. Heavy hitters and big thinkers proven to deliver the winning idea, time and time again. Collective refers to our collaborative model that brings together these creative leaders (and new talent) who each own their domain completely throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Our name embodies our promise: we deliver pitch-quality creative thinking through genuine creative collaboration. We believe that premium creative thinking isn't about budget size, it's about removing inefficiencies and ensuring that every specialist truly owns their domain throughout the project. This is the Creative Ownership Model in action, and it's reflected in our name and everything we do.
Do you have a physical office?
No, part of our model’s success is taking full advantage of remote working and collective working spaces. While we generally work remotely, we’re in contact the whole time, and can happily meet at a time and place that works for you, or at a number of shared workspaces we use.
Do you handle production and implementation?
Yes. We deliver TVC, video, photography, radio, motion graphics and animation, either through our collective or with specialist production partners matched to your project. Either way, we manage the process and remain your single point of contact. We're also happy to work with your preferred production partners if you have existing relationships.
How much does it cost to work with the Pitch Collective?
Every project is different, so we quote based on your specific brief and scope. What we can say is that our model keeps overheads significantly lower than traditional agencies, no office rent, no large permanent teams, no administrative markup.
We’re transparent about where your budget goes, and we’re always happy to work through options that match your investment level. Book a free consultation to discuss your project.
Do you require a minimum project size or retainer?
We don't have strict minimum requirements, as we prefer to evaluate each opportunity based on where we can add genuine value. Our approach works best for strategic and creative projects where quality of thinking makes a meaningful difference.
For ongoing needs, we offer flexible retainer arrangements that provide access to our specialists on a regular basis without committing to full-time resources.
Do you charge for initial consultations?
No, we’d much prefer to understand your needs and determine if we're the right fit for your project. This usually takes the form of a video call (or we can come to you) to discuss your challenges and explore potential approaches. (And if we’re not right, we’re happy to help you find the team that are).
We’re also happy to sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement before discussing sensitive business information. Just let us know in advance, and we can either sign your standard NDA or provide our own template.
What services does the Pitch Collective offer?
We’re a full-service creative agency covering brand strategy and positioning, campaign concepting and creative direction, design (visual identity, print, packaging, digital), content and production (TVC, video, photography, radio, motion graphics, animation), digital and social campaigns, Squarespace website builds, and media strategy, planning and buying through our specialist media partner.
What industries do you work with?
Our team has experience across virtually every sector, including government communications, behaviour change, education, finance, agriculture, FMCG, B2B, and commercial branding. We’ve delivered campaigns for state government departments, national brands, growing businesses, start-ups and surf-clubs.
How do I choose the right creative agency for my business?
Look for a proven track record (not just a portfolio of pretty work, but evidence of real business results), direct access to the people who’ll actually work on your project, transparency about costs and process, and genuine expertise in your sector or challenge. We’re always happy to have an honest conversation about whether we’re the right fit, and if we’re not, we’re happy to help you find the team who is.
What’s the difference between a creative agency and a freelancer?
A freelancer typically offers one specialist skill. A creative agency coordinates multiple disciplines, including strategy, creative, design, production and media into a cohesive campaign. The Pitch Collective gives you the best of both: specialist freelance talent, coordinated as one team with a single point of contact and unified project management.
Can you help with government tenders and RFQ responses?
Yes. Our founder Ben Growns has extensive experience in government communications. We understand the tender process and can support creative responses for government RFQs.
